Morgado Golf Course
This superb golf course opened in 2003 and is one of the latest to open on the Algarve. Despite its young age, it feels surprisingly mature, a characteristic enhanced by the planting of 500 olive trees. Morgado features views of the Monchique Mountains and is set amongst valleys, rivers and woodland. With gently undulating fairways, deep bunkers and large tees and greens, Morgado is an excellent choice when travelling to the Algarve.
Alamos Golf Course
This is an impressive golf test. Although the length of the round is relatively short, Álamos Golf Course is a constant challenge. With 18 holes, this is a fairly technical but narrow course, with greens that are smaller and very elaborate, undulating.With superb views towards the hills of Serra de Monchique, lakes and farmland, this course produces relaxation and peacefulness. While a shorter course than Morgado Golf Course (Par 71), it has all the necessary features to meet the expectations of the most demanding player. More than just a golf test, this course embodies the harmony that can be achieved between humanity and nature.
Accommodation
The hotel offers fantastic value for money. There are 98 luxury rooms, 16 Standard Rooms, 52 Superior Rooms, 25 Deuxe Rooms and 5 Duplex rooms (88 sqm). With modern décor and some luxurious touches, all rooms have sweeping views over the Morgardo Golf course. Every room is equipped with a safe, telephone, hairdryer, air conditioning and LCD flat-screen TV’s with satellite channels.
The main Restaurant serves a continental buffet breakfast to fuel your day. Buffet selections of traditional local foods or international cuisine can be enjoyed for lunch and dinner. The great ambience and atmosphere makes this a fantastic place for an after-golf drink.With two full size swimming pools and a further two shallow pools for children, this is an ideal family friendly venue. If you intend to bring your family there is an entertainment programme at the kids club and a variety of shows at night which are on-site.If you wish to be adventurous during your golf break you can choose to explore the area by bike, with rental on-site. There are also tennis courts, a newly equipped gym and if this all gets a bit too much you can wind down and have treatments on any aching muscles with a top quality massage.
The Morgado Golf Hotel is very accessible as it is less than an hour drive away from Faro airport and if you wish to explore the surrounding area, you can head to Monchique, Portimao or Alvor. The three traditional Portuguese towns are a short taxi ride away and also have great restaurants and bars.If this isn’t enough for you than it is an extra 10 minutes away to Albufeira which has a great nightlife and plenty of well-known beaches.
