The 6,581 yard, par 72 championship course at Old Thorns Golf Club has been around since 1976 when Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas completed construction. The rolling nature of the landscape makes for idyllic golf terrain. Having been sympathetically designed for the less proficient golfer; this magnificent course still affords the better player a real challenge. Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Isao Aoki, and then Open champion Bill Rogers opened the golf course with a four ball competition of high standards, showing the true quality of this course. Old Thorns is maintained to a meticulous standard with mature trees, natural springs and several lakes.
Accommodation
There are several brilliant accommodation options at within the Old Thorns Estate including hotel rooms, the new self-catering apartments and eco-pods.
